Liisa Murray Founder / Co-Artistic Director / Choreographer / Dancer A prairie girl at heart, Liisa Murray grew up dancing in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. During her high school years she relocated to Karachi, Pakistan and Zug, Switzerland. Liisa’s curiosity for modern dance was ignited by teacher Sophie Gavard and spurred post-secondary studies in York University’s dance department. Liisa was honoured to study under Carol Anderson, Julia Sasso, Donna Krasnow, Claire Wootten, Keiko Thompson, and Karen Bowes-Sewell during the completion of her Honours BFA. Since graduating in June 2008, Liisa has been developing with random acts of dance, has found a passion for teaching, and has had the privilege of working with Dave Wilson and Peggy Baker. |

Julie Grant Co-Artistic Director / Choreographer / Dancer Julie was introduced to contemporary dance at Etobicoke School of the Arts, after being trained mostly in ballet. She has worked with many choreographers such as Trisha Armstrong, Caitlin Brown, Colleen Freidman, Danny Grossman, Gabby Kamino, Julia Sasso and with members of rad. Julie had the opportunity to work with Montreal based company Le Carré des Lombes while attending the workshop Springboard Danse Montreal 2008 and attended AHHA Winter Intensive 2009. She graduated from York University's BFA Hons. dance program in June 2009. Julie draws inspiration from her experiences in improvisation and her interest in world cultures. |

Laura Bolender Rehearsal Director Laura Bolender is an artist living in Toronto working as a dancer, choreographer, teacher and community collaborator. A recent graduate of York University, Laura holds a BFA in Dance and a Community Arts Practice Certificate. Laura has trained with many influential teachers including Julia Sasso, Carol Anderson and Marc Boivin. She continues to develop her choreographic voice and has danced with rad for over two years, while continuing with them as Rehearsal Director. With a passion to engage communities through the arts, Laura continues to work in high schools and community centres with excitement for future creative endeavours! |
